Invasion of the Body Swappers

In science fiction, robots tend to be multitaskers. One robot can cook, clean, take the dog for a walk, and so on.

But the reality is, it would be much easier to design a series of robots that are all specialized in one or two tasks. Of course, then this leaves the robot-owner with the unenviable task of managing a dozen robots in their home.

Unless, of course, all of those robots shared a brain. Then it would have all of the simplicity of the single robot with the advantages of specialized robots.

As this video below shows, this is becoming a reality.

These robots share a single mind that moves from robot to robot as needed. It learns your needs and then acts on them. Over time it will get “smarter” and learn to anticipate those needs. It is even something you can take with you. As the scientist in the video explains, if you have a second home, you can just bring the “brain” with you and have it operate the robots in the second home that are there waiting for you. No need to have another “brain” learn about you.
